Early Settlers of Mier: Jose Bernardo Vela and Maria Josefa Pena

An early family of La Villa de Mier is that of Jose Bernardo Vela and Maria Josefa Pena. They are listed in the 1757 census of Mier as follows: "Don Bernardo Vela, ausente con licencia, casado con Maria Peña, cuatro hijas, armas y cinco caballos.".

I have not found the parents of Jose Bernardo Vela but the parents of his wife are Jose Jacinto Peña and Ana Maria Guajardo.
